No. 31
This is the 31st piece in an ongoing series of abstract collages, each meticulously crafted from fragments of Pokémon cards and constrained to their original size.
The pocket monster, reconfigured.
This particular piece is composed of fragments from the three stages of one Pokémon’s evolutionary chain: Horsea, Seadra, and Kingdra. Even if you know the game, you might not easily recognize the progression here. All three Pokémon are present, but they’ve been remixed—fractured, rearranged, and reshaped into something entirely new.
The real therapy for me is in trying to find a new picture of what was. By breaking apart these symbols of nostalgia, story, and adventure, I’m exploring the process of reinvention—how a familiar journey can be deconstructed and reassembled into something distinctive and chaotic. It’s an experiment in memory, narrative, and transformation.
What do you see in this reconstruction?
Thank you for engaging with the oddity that is my art share. I’ll continue posting more of this series and other creative musings on my new blog, where I’m diving deeper into this creative process and its meaning. Stay tuned for more!
